When a buyer asks "does Faurenis stay in the EU", they often mean four different things at once: where is the data stored, where is the AI inference computed, where do backups live, and who can reach the data from where. The honest answer requires four lines, not one.
Storage. EU-tenant data sits in Google Cloud's Frankfurt (europe-west3) and Belgium (europe-west1) regions. We pin the storage class so a future replication change cannot quietly extend the footprint.
Inference. Every Faurenis AI call for an EU tenant routes to an EU-hosted model deployment. We do not call US-hosted models for an EU tenant under any circumstance. This is enforced in code, not policy.
Backups. Backups stay in-region. Cross-region replication is off by default for the EU tenant and requires a deliberate per-customer opt-in tied to a contractual amendment.
Support access. Faurenis support engineers based outside the EU cannot read EU-tenant data without a time-boxed, audited access grant approved by an EU-based admin. We document who can grant the access, when, and for what.
The reason we publish this stack rather than the single line is that "EU residency" in vendor marketing often means only the first one. The other three are the ones that come up in a real DPIA. Buyers should ask all four. Vendors should answer all four.
