Imaging, arriving inside the same record.
We are building a dedicated imaging gateway — DICOM and photo intake, an in-record viewer, and structured findings review — inside the same patient record as your notes and charting. It is not available for clinical use today.
DICOM & photo viewer — preview
- Built and merged into the platform
- Pending activation and regulatory review
- Not available for clinical use today
The workflow problem
Radiographs and photos live outside the record they belong in.
Most dental teams juggle a separate imaging application alongside their clinical software — re-keying findings, hunting for the right study, and losing the thread between what was seen and what was documented.
- 01
Imaging lives in a separate app.
Radiographs and photos usually sit in dedicated imaging software, disconnected from the notes and charting that reference them.
- 02
Findings get re-typed by hand.
What a clinician sees on a radiograph has to be manually re-entered into the clinical note — a second chance to lose detail or introduce error.
- 03
No single timeline of what was captured.
Radiographs, photos, and clinical notes accumulate in different systems with no shared timeline connecting them.
- 04
Comparing studies over time is manual.
Pulling up a prior radiograph to compare against a new one usually means switching applications and hunting by date.
What we’re building
One viewer, inside the same patient record.
Imaging is designed to bring DICOM radiographs and clinical photos into the same record as your notes and charting — not a separate application to log into.
DICOM & photo intake
A dedicated ingestion path for radiographs and clinical photos, designed to sit alongside the rest of the visit record.
In-record viewer
A viewer built to open a study directly from the patient record — no separate imaging application to switch to.
Manual measurement tools
Basic annotation and measurement tools for a clinician reviewing a study, calibrated before any measurement is presented as clinical.
Side-by-side comparison
Designed to let a clinician compare studies from different visits directly, without hunting across systems.
Structured findings, human-reviewed
Any finding recorded against a study will go through the same explicit clinician review as every other Faurenis output — never auto-charted.
Same audit standard as the rest of the record
Once available, every study, view, and annotation will be logged with the same audit rigour as documentation and charting today.
How it will work
Designed to fit the same review discipline as the rest of Faurenis.
Nothing here is live yet — this is the intended shape of the workflow once imaging is available.
- 01
Upload or receive a study
A radiograph or photo is added to the patient record through the dedicated imaging intake.
- 02
Open it inside the visit
The study opens in the in-record viewer, alongside the same patient context as notes and charting.
- 03
Review and annotate
The clinician reviews the study and can add manual measurements or annotations.
- 04
Compare against prior studies
Where a prior study exists, the clinician can view them side by side.
- 05
Findings await explicit review
Clinician-controlledAny recorded finding sits as a draft until a clinician explicitly reviews and approves it — the same discipline as every other Faurenis surface.
Availability today
Built, not yet available.
Here’s the honest status — no promised date, because we won’t commit to one before regulatory review is complete.
- Done
Built and merged
The viewer, upload flow, worklist, and comparison tools exist in the codebase today.
- In progress
Pending activation & regulatory review
Imaging stays fail-closed in production until activation, identity, and regulatory review are complete.
- Planned
Available in your workspace
Once live, imaging will appear inside Encounter Mode as a reviewed, audited pane — not a silent flag flip.
Faurenis Imaging does not provide a diagnosis. Once available, every finding will require explicit clinician review before it becomes part of the record.
Why this isn’t live yet
Fail-closed until it’s ready — by design, not by accident.
Imaging is one of the most tightly governed workflows in the platform. It stays off until every one of these is true — not just the code.
Fail-closed by default
Imaging is disabled at both the application and the server level until it is explicitly and separately turned on — there is no partial or accidental exposure.
No diagnostic claims
Imaging is designed as a viewer and record-keeping surface, not a diagnostic tool — any future AI-assisted finding will be clearly marked as a suggestion for clinician review, never a diagnosis.
Human review required
No finding recorded against a study will ever be treated as final without explicit clinician approval, matching every other Faurenis workflow.
Regulatory review pending
Activation is gated on the same clinical-evaluation and regulatory process the rest of the platform follows — not a simple flag flip.
Calibration before measurement
Manual measurement tools will not present a number as clinically reliable until the underlying imaging is properly calibrated.
Same tenant isolation and audit standard
When it activates, imaging will inherit the platform’s existing clinic-scoping and audit-log guarantees — not a separate, lighter standard.
Who this is being built for
Where imaging will fit into daily practice.
The roles below describe the workflow imaging is being designed around — none of this is available today.
For dentists
Will let you open a radiograph directly from the visit, without switching to a separate imaging application.
For radiology-minded GPs
Designed to support side-by-side comparison of studies across visits for cases you are actively monitoring.
For assistants
Intake and organise studies into the same record the rest of the team already works from.
For practice managers
One place to see which studies exist for a patient, instead of a separate imaging system to check.
For compliance and admin
A clear, documented activation path — imaging stays off until regulatory review and clinical evaluation are complete.
