Patient consent for AI documentation
What patients need to know — and how Faurenis supports the consent moment.

In plain language
Patient consent for AI documentation means the patient knows the clinic is using AI to draft the clinical note and agrees to it. Consent rules differ by jurisdiction; most require an explicit, informed, recorded consent.
Why it matters
Consent is both an ethical and a legal requirement. Done well it builds trust ("I have the technology that helps me listen to you more carefully"). Done poorly it erodes it.
Faurenis's approach
Faurenis includes a patient-facing one-page consent that clinics can hand out or display. The consent is logged in the patient chart. The Ambient Scribe does not record until consent is on file.
Risks & safeguards
- Withdrawn consent — Faurenis supports per-patient opt-out and deletion of associated transcripts.
- Different jurisdictions — the consent template is parameterised; clinics tailor wording to their local rules.
