How to evaluate a dental AI product

A short buyer's framework — what to test, what to ask, and what to ignore.

In plain language

A useful evaluation runs on real workflows, not demos. Run the product for two weeks on a single clinician's real visits. Ask three questions: does the AI save time, does it stay inside CDS boundaries, and is the security posture documented honestly.

Why it matters

Demos are designed to look good. Real workflows surface the edges — the unusual visit, the angry patient, the unclear consent, the partial transcript. That is where the product's real character lives.

Faurenis's approach

Faurenis ships a structured two-week pilot kit: a starter clinical-note template, a daily check-in survey, and a CS engineer on standby. The pilot exits with a written go/no-go.

Risks & safeguards

  • Selection effects — the easiest visits go through easiest. Make sure the pilot includes a complex case at least twice a week.
